Just walk down the zig-zag path! 88 steps to the beach. Part of the Wales Coastal Path. Go through the gate of the National Trust field Allt-y-Mor at the bottom of the drive.
Turn left at the bottom of the drive, turn right at the crossroads, and walk down to the sea.
BENAR BEACH (6 miles)
Drive south to Tal-y-Bont, turn right at the church and drive to the Benar Beach car park. A lovely wooden boardwalk leads to the beach. When you get to the end, turn right (north) for the nude bathing area. Here’s our dog Milo running back in shock from the beach. The dome in the background is Rhinog Fawr:

Just down the road in Llanbedr. Not an actual island, but a beach on a peninsula you have to pay to go to. Unsurprisingly, we’ve never been. So we can’t tell you much about it..
If long sloping stretches of golden sand are beginning to pall, make your way through Porthmadog to Borth-y-Gest, a pretty little bay village which marks the start of a series of enchanting, tiny coves strung along a sunny south-facing coastline.
BLACK ROCK SANDS Beyond Borth y Gest
The only beach in the area that you can drive on.
